Title: Architect

​

Job Description:  Responsible for all aspects of architectural design and coordination of projects under the supervision of a Senior Architect, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. Architect will work closely with the entire project team to ensure timely project completion, within budget, and in accordance LACHIN Architects quality and client service standards.  Additional job responsibilities may be assigned including, marketing, business development, bidding and negotiation, and proposal and presentation writing.

Job Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

​

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture and maintain current licensure (if licensed) or working towards becoming licensed.

  • Minimum 3-5 years working in an architect’s office, or in a related field, as an architect, intern architect, or draftsperson.

  • Experience with all phases and aspects of commercial architectural projects, to include planning, proposal development, programming, design, drafting, detailing, specification writing, coordination with engineers and consultants, client relations, contract administration, bidding and negotiation, and close-out.

  • Able to use Windows, Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCad, ProCore, and Submittal Exchange. Knowledge of Enscape, Adobe Suite, Scanning Software, and Navisworks is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

​

General:

  • Keep staff and management informed of problems or opportunities that can impact the operation of the business, and/or affect their clients, projects, or jobs.

Architecture:

  • Develop project program in close collaboration with client, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

  • Create and develop overall design concepts; formulate design presentation strategies and make presentations.

  • Manage design process for entire project; coordinate efforts of other designers, consultants and engineers to produce accurate and complete construction documents.

  • Monitor project and schedule to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

  • Participate in QA/QC efforts to improve work product and proactively identify potential errors or omissions in project documents. Actively seek feedback and review by colleagues.

  • Manage client, consultant, and contractor interaction to ensure constructive relationships.

  • Keep projects moving forward by addressing issues and making decisions in a timely manner.

  • Review contractors’ invoices to ensure compliance with contract.

  • Review engineers’ and consultants’ invoices to ensure compliance with contract.

  • Seek out opportunities to stay abreast of new designs, best practices, and materials in order to bring worthwhile innovations to projects.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Take responsibility for seeking business opportunities, beneficial relationships, and networking, and work with management to pursue projects that fit the firm’s strengths and goals.

  • Participate in developing proposals and presentations.

  • Take and share photographs of firm activities and construction site visits for use in social media, website updates, or other business development efforts.

  • Maintain an updated LinkedIn profile, and post/share professional and firm accomplishments as appropriate.

  • Assist in managing all social media: Website Updates, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.

​

Operations:

  • Architects may be expected to support the office in non-architectural activities such as IT, continuing education, information management, social functions, social media, etc.

  • Ensure that office standards for information management and file storage are adhered to in order to ensure secure storage and speedy and efficient retrieval of necessary documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Title: Architectural Production Specialist/ Drafter

 

Job Description:  Responsible for the production of architectural drawings, including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. The drafter will work closely with the architectural team to ensure timely project completion, within budget, and in accordance with LACHIN Architects quality and client service standards.  Total compensation package includes competitive salary, health insurance, paid time off, and 401K plan.  This position offers excellent room to grow within the company. 

 

Job Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum 2  years working experience as a draftsperson.

  • Able to use Windows, Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCad, ProCore, and Submittal Exchange. Knowledge of Enscape, Adobe Suite, Scanning Software, and Navisworks is a plus. 

  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and organized

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This position requires the use of Revit as the company standard.  AutoCAD will be used periodically in specific situations. 


General:

  • Analyzing building specifications, codes, and sites.

  • Creating technical drawings from architects' sketches and specifications.

  • Using CAD software to create drawings incorporating exact measurements, calculations, building codes, and other construction details.

  • Printing CAD drawing schematics for use by architects and construction managers.

  • Entering CAD data into building information modeling (BIM) systems to create 3-D models and renderings.

  • Visiting construction sites to perform measurements and calculate dimensions as needed.

  • Collaborating with architects and construction engineers to ensure adherence to building specifications and industry regulations.

 

Operations:

  • Maintain and update office design and drafting standards, including Revit templates, families, title blocks, libraries, etc. 

  • May be expected to support the office in non-architectural activities such as IT, continuing education, information management, social functions, social media, etc. 

  • Ensure that office standards for information management and file storage are adhered to to ensure secure storage and efficient retrieval of necessary documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Title: Summer Intern, Architect in Training

​

Job Description:  Approximately 3-month internship meant to advance a current student’s understanding of general office standards and design project procedures. Interns gain additional experience from working in the office and the field. During this internship, you will work on real projects our team is currently involved in to gain real-world experience. These experiences will help you grow and understand more about the architectural profession, working collaboratively with project teams, and how to serve the needs of clients. From these real-world interactions, you will develop the skills to collaborate with peers and clients while building your professional network.

Job Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a current college student working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

  • Experience with Revit is preferred but not a requirement.

  • Available to work in the office.

  • Willingness to learn, self-motivated, and ready to ask questions.
